If you are a Christ Church Covenant Partner, please nominate individuals for Leadership Team, Treasurer, Elder, and Deacon positions. The Nominations Team will notify the Nominees and ask about their interest in pursuing the nomination. Nominees can decline or move ahead with an interview. Recommendations are made to the Leadership Team and then presented to the church body.
Nomination:
Please review the role descriptions below. Then, take time to prayerfully consider the candidate and his/her qualifications. Nominations must be received by Sunday, March 2, 2025.
You may also submit your nomination in one of the following ways:
1. Scan and email it to the Nomination Team
2. Put it in the Nomination box at church
3. Mail to the Church Office “Attn: Nominating Team” (61 Cedar Ave. #6, E. Greenwich, RI 02818)

Leadership Team:
The team will be accountable to the congregation for building, maintaining, and overseeing the spiritual welfare of the church and for directing and overseeing all ministries and business affairs of the church. The Leadership Team shall do the following:
- Determine Ministry Teams.
- Present annual mission & ministry objectives.
- Approve Church policies.
- Hire/Dismiss staff.
- Annually appraise Sr. Pastor.
- Annually ensure appraisal of staff.
- Prepare and submit a budget.
- Hear and respond to the concerns of members.
- Be accountable for church discipline.
Treasurer:
The Treasurer is an elected member of the Leadership Team who oversees the financial health and stewardship of Christ Church's resources. This person demonstrates financial acumen, integrity, and commitment to responsible management of church finances.
• Lead and direct the Finance Team
• Ensure proper financial policies and processes
• Provide monthly financial updates to Leadership Team
• Oversee church financial matters
• Guide financial planning and reporting
Elders:
The Council of Elders is the body of those men and women from the congregation who have been recognized and affirmed by the congregation as having the spiritual maturity, wisdom, consistency of character, life experience, and devotion to Christ to serve as role models of the life we are called to in Christ and as spiritual shepherds to the people of Christ Church.
- The Elder Council shall meet within a month of the Annual Meeting in order to select officers. They will then meet at least quarterly throughout the year.
- Regular gatherings for prayer, study, ministry to the congregation, or discussion may be established by the Elder Council with the approval of the Leadership Team.
- Special meetings may also be called by the Elder Council chair, including those called at the request of the senior pastor, the Leadership Team chair, or another Elder.
- Oversee Prayer Ministry.
Deacons:
The Council of Deacons is the body of those men and women from the congregation, recognized and affirmed by the congregation as having the spiritual maturity, consistency of character, devotion to Christ, and the specific calling and passion to serve as role models of the life of service we are called to in Christ, and lead in the serving ministries of Christ Church.
- The Deacon Council shall meet at least once each year within a month of the Annual Meeting in order to select officers.
- Serve on Ministry Teams as gifted and called.
